The Cloud Security Serenity Prayer

As Josh Corman and I were developing on our RSA US 2012 presentation, Adversary ROI: Why Spend $40B Developing It, When You Can Steal It for $1M?, we mentioned the need for security professionals to know when to stop and recite the "serenity prayer".

That inspired me to draft a Cloud Security Serenity Prayer as part of our preparation for our upcoming BrightTALK, Cloud Serenity: Controlling What We Can and Accepting What We Cannot.

The Cloud Security Serenity Prayer

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;

transparency to the things I cannot control;

relevant controls for the things I can;

and the wisdom (and influence) to deploy workloads appropriately.
